Roof Works, OGS Old Granada Studios

Scope of Works:

We were engaged by ARJ Construction to carry out the roof works to remove the existing roof screed to the Former Granada Studios building located on Atherton Street, Manchester city centre.

 

The exciting project will see the existing office building refurbished and kitted out into the new hotel complete with a vertical extension to form an outdoor swimming pool and roof top bar area on the eighth and ninth floors.

 

Our works comprised of the removal and disposal of all roofing screed over various thicknesses across the roof together with redundant steel structures that were remnants of the former roof top plant room.

 

All materials arising from the roof works were removed at roof level by use of the south lift shaft where all materials were recovered from the shaft at ground level and loaded manually into waste skips located nearby.

 

Works were carried out over a 3 week period with an average of 6-8 men on site at all times.
